Democratic Congressman Andy Kim as won the Democratic primary in New Jersey's U.S. Senate race, setting up a November matchup against Curtis Bashaw who won the Republican primary.

It'll be a three-way race, with incumbent Senator Bob Menendez saying he'll run as an Independent despite standing trial on federal corruption charges. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges.

Kim served in the Obama Administration and overcame an early challenge in the primary from First Lady Tammy Murphy. She ended her campaign before Tuesday's primary with poll numbers showing that she wasn't resonating with voters.

Bashaw's biggest primary challenge came from Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner. Kim is considered the favorite in the race because of the edge Democrats have in registered voters, but he could be hurt in Menendez stays in the race and splits the party.
