Fleet Week Begins In New York City

The Fleet Week celebration begins in New York City on Wednesday.

It got underway with the Parade of Ships featuring U.S. Navy ships, U.S. Coast Guard cutters and U.S. Naval Academy yard patrol boats. The 36th annual event brings 2,300 service members to the city for a series of events that include demonstrations and ship tours.

“Fleet Week is about celebrating those who serve and recognizing the unyielding strength of our Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard team," Commander Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Rear Adm. Wesley McCall said.
