Rudy Giuliani was notified of his indictment in Arizona on Friday (May 17) during a party celebrating his upcoming 80th birthday.

Giuliani was indicted in April in connection with an alleged scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state.

He was served about an hour after taunting officials about the indictment on X.

"If Arizona authorities can't find me by tomorrow morning; 1. They must dismiss the indictment; 2. They must concede they can't count votes," Giuliani wrote.

Just over an hour later, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes replied to Giuliani's post, which has since been deleted, saying, "The final defendant was served moments ago. @RudyGiuliani nobody is above the law."

A spokesperson for Giuliani confirmed he was served during the party but said it didn't bother him at all.

"The mayor was unfazed by the decision to try and embarrass him during his 80th birthday party. He enjoyed an incredible evening with hundreds of people who love him—from all walks of life — and we look forward to full vindication soon," said Ted Goodman, a spokesperson for Giuliani.
