Who Does A Doctor Call When He Gets A Side Effect From The Covid Shot?

The covid vaccine as been hailed with perhaps equal amounts of praise and skepticism since it was introduced in 2021. One of the common refrains from those against the vaccine has been, “We don’t know the side-effects it could cause.”

Now, the man who might be the pre-eminent authority on vaccines in America feels he may have a side-effect from the vaccine, and he is frustrated at the lack of answers.

Dr. Gregory Poland, who heads the vaccine research group at the Mayo Clinic, says he has experienced a loud whooshing sound in his ears since receiving his shot. However, as Dr. Poland told 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program, the hard part has not been contracting the side-effect, but rather the lack of recognition by his peers to even discuss the possibility of a connection between the virus and his condition.

“After my second MRNA vaccine, I developed what’s called tinnitus, a ringing in your ears,“ Dr. Poland told Berman and Riedel. “I went ahead and got my third dose, and that ringing got infinitely worse, and it’s been with me 24/7 ever since then. The problem is trying to get the vaccine safety networks and committees and things that we have to recognize that, or at least do the research to say is there an association or is there not an association. There are side effects that occur; at the same time, I hasten to say that the benefits far outweigh the risks. It’s just that I happen to have experienced one.”

Dr. Poland says he is willing to discuss what happened to him not as a scare tactic, but rather as a way to build up public trust and confidence in the medical field. “Some of the people in my field would say, you know, Greg, don’t talk about it, you’re going to dissuade people from taking the vaccine. My answer is always, you know what builds trust? And trust is pretty low in the medical profession right now. What builds trust is when we are absolutely transparent with the people that we are privileged to take care of, and this is part of that transparency.”
