George Santos Ends Campaign For Congress

Former Congressman George Santos is suspending his bid to return to the House.

He announced his decision on social media, saying he didn't want his independent run to cause the Republican vote to be split between him and incumbent Nick Lalota.

"Staying in this race all but guarantees a victor for the Dems in the race," Santos said.

Santos was expelled from Congress in December after being hit with multiple federal charges. He repeatedly rejected calls for his resignation and has remained defiant, even after being forced out of the House by his colleagues.

"It’s only goodbye for now, I’ll be back," Santos said.
