Following a series of violent incidents in the subway system, Governor Kathy Hochul says she's preparing to outline a new safety plan.
"We will make people feel more safe with more police on the subway," Hochul said.
The specifics are unclear, including how many additional officers may be put into the system. Governor Hochul met on Monday with Mayor Eric Adams and Transit Chief Michael Kemper, while also announcing a plan to address retail theft in New York.
The subway safety plan is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
