The NBA season got off to a bad start in New York, with both the Knicks and Nets losing in their opening games.
The Knicks fell to the Boston Celtics 108 to 104 at Madison Square Garden. Former Knick Kristaps Porzingis scored 30 points against his old team, while Jayson Tatum led the way with 34.
The Nets lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 114 to 113 at Barclays Center. Donovan Mitchell hit a 3-pointer in the closing minute to put the Cavaliers on top.
