From a tropical storm and earthquake hitting southern California simultaneously to the horrific efforts by the Mets and Yankees this season, some events make you want to throw up your hands and say our bad luck was written in the stars- which, according to one astronomer, is the absolute truth. Aliza Einhorn is an astrologer and tarot card reader based in Brooklyn. She appeared on 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program to offer a possible explanation for the karmic funk the world has been in lately.
“We do have a lot of planets retrograde, and that’s not that unusual,” Einhorn told Berman and Riedel. “The unusual thing is that we have Mercury going retrograde when Venus is already retrograde. In plain English- it’s a lot of mishegas, if you catch my drift.”
Einhorn was quick to offer a clarification. “I think it can be hard to generalize, you know. It’s not enough to say, oh, wild, topsy-turvy, hold on, fasten your seatbelts. It is going to play out differently for everyone.”
However, Einhorn feels there are better days ahead, particularly as the calendar changes to autumn. “That’s gonna be in October. We have two eclipses… Astrologers go crazy when the eclipses happen. They are really big deals personally; can change your life on a dime in an instant… Someone could get a new job. Let’s say they hated their job and they’ve been looking for the right thing for a long time, and then, “boom!”- eclipse time, and they get what they’re looking for.”
