A quick thinking police officer in Nassau County is being praised for taking down a woman who was waving a gun.
Video shows the woman pointing a gun while walking through an intersection in North Bellmore, when a police cruiser speeds in her direction and sideswipes the suspect knocking her to the ground. Officers then swarmed the woman to secure the gun and take her into custody.
"They did an outstanding job," Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said.
