It's going to be a hot few days in New York City.
The first official heat wave of the summer is beginning, with temperatures climbing into the 90's on Thursday. It'll remain dangerously hot through much of the weekend, with an excessive heat warning in effect until 9pm on Friday.
New York City has opened 500 cooling centers around the five boroughs. Mayor Adams is urging New Yorkers to stay out of the heat as much as possible.
