Concha: Last Time the New York Times Got The GOP Right Was For Eisenhower

Much has been made in the weeks leading up to President Biden’s tumble at the Air Force Academy graduation regarding the commander-in-chief’s physical and mental capacities… unless, according to Fox News contributor Joe Concha, you have been a devotee of the mainstream media. Concha appeared on 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program to discuss the scrutiny- or lack thereof- that the mainstream media has put on Biden’s aptitude as the 2024 campaign season starts to take shape.

“I’ll say this about Joe Biden’s schedule,” Concha told Berman and Riedel. “The only thing on his schedule (Monday) is at 4:30pm, when he hosts the Kansas City Chiefs to celebrate their Super Bowl win. That’s it, so don’t tell me about vibrant. I want to see actions, and as far as actions are concerned, this is a president that’s at 35% approval in the recent CNN poll and 26% approval among independents. I don’t care who the Republican nominee is, whether it’s Trump, DeSantis, Nikki Haley. When you have numbers like that, it’s very hard to get re-elected.”

Concha says trust in the media overall has drastically plunged in the last half-century. “In 1976, three out of four Americans said they trusted the media and trusted the information that was being reported. That has been completely turned on its head and now it’s down to like 9% among Republicans and something like 30% overall, so, that’s the thing. You can scream and yell all you want about Donald Trump, or DeSantis is somehow worse than Trump. No one trusts the people that are telling you this stuff.”
