MTA Addressing Homeless Problem At Grand Central Madison

The MTA is expected to vote on Wednesday to address a growing homeless problem at the new Grand Central Madison terminal.

The plan would prevent people from sitting or lying down on benches for more than 90 minutes. The MTA said in a statement that people aren’t waiting that long for their train.

Another proposed rule would formally ban people from defecating outside of the bathroom. A third would ban carts larger than 30 inches, which is similar to a rule already imposed on the subways.
