Rep. Malliotakis: NYC's Approach to Migrant Crisis Is "Mind-Boggling"

U.S. Representative Nicole Malliotakis is calling for a better approach to how New York City deals with migrants who have found their way to the city. Speaking on WOR 710’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program, the two-term Congresswoman declared that “It’s absolutely mind-boggling that (the Adams) administration is going out of their way to house tens of thousands of people who just crossed our border, when we have American citizens, homeless New Yorkers, veterans… so many people who are in need.”

She was critical that many of the asylum-seekers do not belong in the five boroughs at all. “Let’s be realistic here; 70% of those individuals who are claiming for asylum don’t qualify for asylum,” she told Berman and Riedel.

Malliotakis (R- NY11) is also calling for more transparency with regards to the investigation into the origins of Covid-19. “It should be made public, it should be transparent to everybody, not just to one particular outlet… I think it’s really important that the American people know what members of Congress know, and that is the reason we’re doing this hearing today on the Covid origins.”
