NY State Senate and Assembly Members Give Themselves a $32,000 Raise

NY State Senators and Assembly members held a vote on whether or not to give themselves pay raises. In a move that shocked no one, the vote passed overwhelmingly, and our political leaders will get a $32,000 pay raise. The move makes Albany state legislature members the highest paid in the country. The pay increase brings their yearly haul to $142,000. Assemblyman Mike Lawler told media outlets Governor Hochul “should be embarrassed for going along with this.”
