Mayor Adams is telling New Yorkers not to demonize the wealthy in the city.
“To continually attack high-income earners where 51% of our taxes are paid by 2% of New Yorkers - it blows my mind when I hear people say ‘So what if your leave.’ No, you leave,” Adams said.
The mayor was speaking at a breakfast event for the Association For A Better New York. He said the city needs both the person who sits in the back of the limousine and the person driving it.
“I want my high-income earners right here in this city,” Adams said.
