Mayor Adams Unveils Plans For Queens Soccer Stadium

Plans are underway to build a brand new 25,000 seat soccer stadium in Queens.

The home to New York City FC will be privately financed and will be built at Willets Point near Citi Field. The plan also calls for affordable housing, a hotel and public space.

“We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a brand-new neighborhood, a Willets Point that offers real opportunity for working people and all New Yorkers,” Mayor Adams said.

New York City FC has mostly played its home games at Yankee Stadium. However, it’s never had a home of its own.
