WOR Producer Natalie Vacca Receives Help From An ‘Angel’

WOR Producer Natalie Vacca and her family received some “divine intervention” to get to the airport on time.

Natalie and her husband Chris were taking their daughter Noelle to Newark Airport for a 5:30 p.m. flight to begin a Seton Hall study abroad program in Italy. At about 2 p.m. they were just 15 minutes from the airport when traffic came to a standstill on Route 24 East because of a tragic accident.

After not moving for about 45 minutes, Natalie and Noelle got out of the car, grabbed the luggage, and began walking back up the highway to an exit to see if they could find a way to Newark. They wound up on a residential street in Summit when a man in a car began waving to them. They walked to the car and spotted a woman in the backseat who said she was heading to the airport for a 5:30 flight to Alaska.

"I knew that something was going to be okay when I saw this guy and when I heard that voice in the back of the car," Natalie said.

The woman told Natalie and Noelle that she had spotted them and asked the Lyft driver to stop. Asked her name, the woman said it was Anna Maria. The driver’s name was Angel.

"All he wanted to do was get us to that airport," Natalie said.

Natalie and Noelle made it to the airport on time and Noelle caught her flight to begin an “amazing travel writing adventure.” After awhile, Chris was able to maneuver out of the traffic jam and meet Natalie at the airport.

Natalie said she hopes to track down Angel to thank him again.
