Mayor Adams Says He’s Like Broccoli

Mayor Adams is defending his crackdown on quality of life issues in New York City, saying it’s making the city safer.

“I'm like broccoli.  You're going to hate me now but you're going love me later,” Adams said.

The mayor has told police to go after low-level crimes like turnstile jumping on the subway, believing it leads to more serious crimes. He’s also ordered officials to remove those homeless encampments around the city.

“People are not going to live under an undignified environment in the city where I am the mayor. We will do better and we have to do better,” Adams said.
