Granny Scams Scammers In Arrest Set Up

Score one for the grannies! In Seaford, New York, a 73-year-old woman identified as “Jean” caught on early to the fact that someone was trying to scam her. Apparently, some loser posed as her grandson, saying he’d been arrested for drunk driving and needed bail money. Since Jean doesn’t have a grandson who drives, this one wasn’t hard to figure out, but she still played along. After “several calls back-and-forth,” Jean confirmed that she could have $8-thousand lined up to help him out, but he’d have to come by and get it…not thinking that the scammer would actually do it. But he did. Thing is? Jean was talking with local cops and getting them to go along with her setup. When the scumbag arrived, Jean handed him two bags filled with paper towels, and then officers pounced on Joshua Estrella Gomez as he walked away.
