Penny Riedel's Holly Drops


  • 1/4 pound of salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 30 large marshmallows
  • Red cinnamon candies
  • 2 to 3 drops of green food coloring (or until bright green)
  • 4 cups of corn flakes


  1. Melt the butter and marshmallows in a large pot over medium heat, stirring constantly
  2. Add the vanilla and food coloring
  3. Stir in the corn flakes
  4. Using a greased spoon, drop the mixture on to a greased cookie sheet or waxed paper
  5. Put 3 red cinnamon candies on each mixture
  6. Allow them to cool and set
