Boy Bakes & Sells Cookies Every Year To Support Toys For Tots

A boy in upstate New York is baking and selling cookies to help a good cause. Seth Bendall is raising money to donate to Toys for Tots once again. The Brockport, New York, 11-year-old has been baking and selling cookies to buy toys for children in need every Christmas since 2014.

Seth started the tradition when he was four-year-old. Each year, he and his mom would bake cookies and sell them, raising around $5-hundred every year. Seth’s mother passed away from cancer in 2019, but — using his mom’s special recipe — he’s continued the yearly tradition with his dad and grandma. And last year, Seth raised $14-hundred for Toys for Tots - the highest amount so far.

This year, Toys for Tots presented Seth with their Commander’s Award, the organization’s highest honor given out for outstanding support of their mission. Seth hopes his example will encourage others to give to charity.
