Poll: De Blasio Last in Race For Governor

A new Siena College Poll shows Governor Kathy Hochul with a comfortable lead in the Democratic field ahead of next year’s election.

She gets 31 percent of the vote from registered voters in a hypothetical five-way primary. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo is a distant second at 17 percent, while Mayor Bill de Blasio is last at 6 percent.

“I have a long rich history of being an underdog. I have seen polls like that, literally every time I've run for office. If I worry about stuff like that, I wouldn't be sitting in this chair right now,” de Blasio said.

The poll shows Attorney General Letitia James at 14 percent and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams receiving 7 percent of the vote.

It also shows that de Blasio is less popular in New York State than Cuomo and former President Donald Trump.
