The NYPD and U.S. Marshals have arrested a man suspected of murdering a pregnant woman in Harlem after a baby shower this past weekend, NBC New York reports.

The suspect, Justin Soriano, is identified as the victim's ex-boyfriend. He surrendered Thursday in the Bronx when authorities paid a visit to an apartment near Gun Hill Road.

The NYPD has not yet announced charges or clarified whether Soriano has an attorney.

The victim, mother-to-be Shanice Young, 31, was walking home after attending a baby shower at around 1:15 a.m. Sunday near West 128 Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard when her partner and her ex got into a fight.

Police previously stated that Young's ex pulled a gun during the dispute and shot her in the head, murdering her in cold blood. Young was found dead outside her apartment building.

No other injuries were reported in the killing.

“I helped her put her gifts in the car and I said, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow,’” Shanice's father, Thurman Young, 57, told the Daily News. “She was going to have her baby in five days. She said ‘This baby is coming in five days, Daddy, get ready.' I said ‘I’ll be ready.' That’s the last thing she said to me.”

More details were expected to be announced later Thursday.
