The legendary Joe's Pizza of New York City will be opening a spot down south in Miami!

The family owned Greenwich Village pizzeria will now be selling 'New York slices' at its first Florida location at Wynwood 25. The restaurant is set to open in Spring 2022. Owner, Joe Pozzuoli, Jr. confirmed the news saying he signed a deal for a long-term lease. At the age of 84 he still owns and operates the Greenwich Village flagship pizza restaurant. Now his son Joe Jr. and his grandchildren will have part of the ownership and be involved in the operations team of the Miami location.

"After an extensive search, Joe’s Pizza was attracted to Wynwood the most. The location is excellent — literally in the heart of Wynwood. Because they have a lot of walk-up and to-go business, the mixed-use space and central location for delivery was a perfect fit,” Joe Fernandez of DWNTWN Realty Advisors tells New Times. "And with such a huge following up north, Joe’s will greatly benefit from the New York migration into Wynwood and the substantial pipeline of new office and residential development."

Many New York-based restaurants have chosen to expand to the city of Miami, including Carbone, Pastis and more!
