It’s no secret that most states have cities with high populations of rich people and others filled with more middle income and low income residents. But there are certainly some states that have more people making a lot of money as compared to others and now a new report reveals which they are.

  • Best Life has revealed a list of the Richest States in the US, based on data from the US Census Bureau.
  • According to the US Census Bureau the median income in the country in 2020 rose to $65,712, the highest ever recorded in the nation.
  • Overall the richest state in the US is Maryland, where the median household income is $86,738.
  • The state with the lowest median household income is Mississippi, $45,792.
