A delay in your flight can be an aggravation, but it went from annoying to prosecutable for one New York woman. Jamie E. Ecker was arrested after she went behind the ticket counter and followed a representative of Allegiant Airlines into a restricted area of the airport to get her luggage back from her flight. Takeoff had been delayed for eight hours, and then the flight was canceled due to technical problems. During that eight hours, Ecker had reportedly gotten intoxicated, and then allegedly went into the restricted area. When deputies tried to arrest her she allegedly assaulted them. Albany Sheriff Craig Apple told local news that he blames Allegiant Air’s negligence for letting the woman enter a restricted area in the first place.
