These 3 Cities Are The Most Dangerous In New Jersey

Good news, New Jersey has consistently ranked as one of the safest states in the country! Statistics actually show that New Jersey is the fourth safest state in the U.S. coming after Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire.

However even being deemed pretty safe there are plenty of cities that have crimes. The FBI has compiled this list for you of the top 10. According to Only In Your State, this list is based off of the number of violent crimes not the number of petty or property crimes. This list is based off of the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents in 2019.

  5. Seaside Heights 9.05

  10. Newark 7.33

The OnlyInYourState list omitted Camden, stating that it did not report its statistics to the FBI. According to a Uniform Crime Report statistical overview provided by Camden County, Camden City averaged 16.06 violent crimes per 1,000 residents in 2018.
