A woman in East Shoreham, New York, and her family were able to escape an early morning house fire thanks to their neighbors. Danielle Apryl had no idea flames were engulfing part of her home until a woman started banging on the door and yelling to alert them to the fire.
Thanks to the warning, Apryl was able to get her one-year-old son out safely and wake her wife and in-laws and their three dogs, who all made it out without injury. The mom credits her quick-thinking neighbor for saving her family and it turns out, it was a family effort. The neighbor - who wishes to remain anonymous - found out about the fire because her four-year-old son was playing outside when he saw the blaze break out and then shouted to his mom to “call the firemen!”
“The words ‘thank you’ aren’t enough - she saved my family and my home,” Apryl says. Her son and she are heroes. I will be forever grateful to her.”
