Governor Murphy Introduces Gun Safety Plan

Governor Phil Murphy has introduced a series of 8 new gun control proposals.

He says it’s a response to an increase in murders in New Jersey, as well as the recent mass shootings around the country.

“We cannot sit back when we know there is more to do to address the danger of gun violence in our communities,” Murphy said.

The ideas include raising the minimum buying age to 21. People would have to pass a safety test when getting a permit and guns would have to be kept locked up at home.
