'SpongeBob' Episodes Pulled Over Controversial Storylines

Nickelodeon is pulling two episodes of SpongeBob Squarepants due to some controversial storylines.

Spogebob Squarepants has had a 20+ year run on Nickelodeon. The show was a space to share stories of Bikini Bottom in an 'edgy' way that made kids and adults love it! However as confirmed to IGN, by network reps, episodes of the show will be 'out of rotation' on broadcast TV and removed from Paramount Plus.

One episode, 'Mid-Life Crustcean', involves SpongeBob, Patrick, and Mr. Krab stealing women's underwear in a 'panty raid'. The other, 'Kwarantined Krab', hits a little too close to home right now due to its storyline where Krusty Krab customers are forced to quarantine due to the 'Clam Flu' virus.

The episodes are currently 'out of rotation' and cannot be streamed on Paramount+ or purchased from digital services like Amazon. Even with these few episodes being censored, we still have more than 260 episodes of the series to enjoy!

Should these episodes have been pulled? Would it have been better to include a warning like some other shows have done recently?
