At least one resident is dead and two firefighters injured in a raging fire that destroyed a Spring Valley, New York assisted living facility.
Crews spent hours battling the fire that started at around 1:30 a.m. at the Evergreen Court For Adults. About 100 to 125 residents live there and all but about 20 were taken out before first responders arrived.
Firefighters got the rest out of the building. One resident died after being rushed to the hospital. The two injured firefighters are expected to be okay. One firefighter is missing in the blaze. There is no word yet on the cause of the fire, which was so intense the second floor of the facility collapsed.
