The New York City subway public service announcements are getting a celebrity makeover.
Starting Friday, famous New York City natives including Jerry Seinfeld, Debi Mazar and Whoopi Goldberg will be voicing the MTA's subway and bus announcements as part of a new campaign to breathe new life into the public transport system struggling with declining ridership and revenues due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative is headed by director Nicolas Heller, the man behind the popular Instagram account @NewYorkNico, which regularly features unique characters from the Big Apple.
The cool thing about this whole campaign is, the stars are donating their voice talents. Heller was told he has no money to make it happen.
