US Soldier Is Arrested For Allegedly Plotting NYC Attack

An active-duty U.S. soldier is in federal custody after he was accused of plotting with who he thought was ISIS, to launch an attack in New York City.

Prosecutors say Army Private First Class Cole James Bridges also attempted to provide information that could be used in an overseas ambush against fellow service members. Instead of talking with co-conspirators, he was talking with federal agents.

An Ohio native, Bridges was reportedly stationed at Fort Stewart in Georgia. An undercover FBI agent began chatting with him, at which time Bridges allegedly discussed attacking the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in Lower Manhattan.

Bridges is charged with attempting to provide material support to ISIS and attempting to murder US service members.
