NYC Governor Andrew Cuomo Gets A Big Raise

New York will soon have the highest paid governor in the nation.

Even though the state of New York is facing a multi-billion dollar shortfall, Governor Andrew Cuomo is still going to get a raise next year. As of January 1st, his salary will increase by 25-thousand dollars to 250-thousand bucks a year.

With the extra income, Cuomo will be the highest paid governor in the country. Right now, New York is billions of dollars in the red mostly due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision was made in 2019, after the rate of pay for the governor remained at $279-thousand for 10 years. Last year, it boosted to the current rate.
