Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is the latest candidate to jump into the race for mayor of New York City.
“It's time to deliver on the promise of this great City,” Adams tweeted.
He posted an announcement video online on Wednesday, detailing his personal struggles and the work that he’s done to benefit the city.
“Throughout my entire life, I’ve always strived to turn my pain into purpose. And right now, with our City in pain, it’s time to rise up, face our challenges head on, and rediscover our purpose: overcoming this great adversity together,” Adams tweeted.
Adams is a former police officer and also served in the New York State Senate. He was elected Brooklyn Borough President in 2013.
