Joe Biden Gains Ground As Remaining Ballots Are Counted

Michigan Election Workers Continue To Count Absentee Ballots

As votes continue to be counted two days after the election, Joe Biden has expanded his electoral lead and needs just six more votes to clinch the presidency. On Wednesday (November 4), Biden was projected to win in Wisconsin and Michigan, giving him 264 electoral votes, compared to President Donald Trump's total of 214.

President Trump is still clinging to razor-thin leads in Georgia and North Carolina, while mail-in ballots have chipped away at his lead in Pennsylvania. Biden is currently leading in Nevada and taking the state, and its six electoral votes would put him at 270. As the final votes are counted, President Trump has gained ground on Biden and is now trailing him by less than one percent.

While several news organizations projected that Biden would win Arizona on election night, Trump has not given up hope he can come from behind and win as election officials count the remaining ballots. Biden has a lead of about 70,000 votes with 86% of the precincts reporting in.

President Trump has a commanding lead in Alaska and is expected to win the state's three electoral votes.

The Trump campaign has filed multiple lawsuits over how the votes are being counted. Trump's campaign is trying to stop the counting in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, demanding that observers be granted "meaningful access" to watch as poll workers open and count the mail-in ballots. In Wisconsin, the Trump campaign is demanding a recount.
