An NYU professor is claiming victory over an elevator that tried to keep him from his students. Last week, Jay Van Bavel was in a rush to get home and start his “Intro To Psychology” class via ZOOM. His building elevator had other plans.
Bavel was stuck in the elevator for a half an hour with his 10-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son when he decided to carry on with the lecture without any notes or presentation.
Van Bavel says in hindsight it may have been best to reschedule the class, but he didn't want to let his students down. And it helped calm his kids, who were pretty scared
