New York Deer Vasectomy Program Gets Cut

Staten Island, New York decided to handle its deer overpopulation problem with vasectomies.

Now that’s been snipped from the budget. As you would think, giving a bunch of male deer vasectomies would be pricey…. and you’d be right. To the tune of nearly seven million bucks (dollars not deer) a year.

With about 93-percent of the herd population nipped and tucked, there really isn’t a need right now to continue the program. But, if the herd roars back, you can blame COVID-29 for it. The virus outbreak has forced Staten Island to make several budget slashes.
