Movie Theaters Sue New Jersey Over Reopening Plan

Movie theater giants are not happy with the state of New Jersey.

Calling the forced coronavirus closures unconstitutional, they are suing the Garden State. AMC, Cinemark and Regal claimed constitutional injury Monday night and alleged that New Jersey Governor Philip Murphy can't keep theaters closed any longer.

They say that it's not fair other businesses are reopening, but not movie houses. The industry is asking for an order instructing New Jersey from enforcing orders that treats movie theaters differently than similar businesses.

One of the issues is Governor Phil Murphy put a pause on reopening as some key benchmark numbers rose too high.
