Three-Story Building Collapses In Brooklyn

No injuries were reported after a three-story building in Carroll Garden, Brooklyn, collapsed on Wednesday.

A gymnasium reportedly operated on the bottom floor, but the building was unoccupied at the time of the collapse.

New York City's Phase 2 coronavirus reopening has not allowed for gymnasiums to be open to the public.

Construction at the site was ordered to stop in June as officials cited builders for failure to maintain the structure. Records indicated that a brick wall was "dangerously bulging" over the sidewalk, Newsweek reports.

The New York City Fire Department reported to the scene and cleared it over fears of a gas leak.

The city is still investigating the collapse.
