Could The New York Jets Trade Le'Veon Bell This Season?

Remember last week when we told you that I believed the Jets had signed 37-year-old running back Frank Gore to send a message to 28-year-old running back Le’Veon Bell.

Not that Bell hadn’t already gotten the message before he even played a down for the Jets last season as he and head coach Adam Gase have continually clashed. Couple that with the run game being such a mess last year and it’s not surprising that days after the signing of Gore—that trade rumors have continued to swirl.

The Jets have publicly said they want Bell to remain on the roster. Bell has publicly said he wants to be with the Jets. But it seems the relationship may be a lost cause.

And it’s not because of the Gore signing from last week as much as what they do this season.

“Bell doesn’t seem to have a future with the Jets beyond this season.” says one report out of NYC that also noted that the Jets selected La'Mical Perine in the fourth round and that “he could be Bell’s replacement.”

The bottom line is that should October roll around and the Jets—as usual—have nothing to play for, well, then it would make sense for the Jets to deal him for anything, knowing they don’t plan to bring him back in 2021.
