Governor Cuomo Establishes Containment Area in New Rochelle

The National Guard is moving into New Rochelle.

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, Governor Andrew Cuomo is establishing a “containment area.”

“What we are going to do is focus on an area, concentric circle, around the situs of the majority of the cases in New Rochelle,” Cuomo said.

Inside the one-mile radius schools, houses of worship and other places where large crowds gather will be closed for two weeks. People will still be allowed to move around freely.

The containment area will last two weeks. During that time, officials will clean the schools and assess the situation.
