Mayor De Blasio Rules Out Car Ban Near Schools

Mayor Bill de Blasio says he won’t support an effort to ban cars near schools in New York City.

There’s a push to increase safety in school zones after two children were killed by vehicles in East New York this week.

De Blasio said his administration has already moved to make school zones safer and argued that parents still need to be able to pick up and drop off their kids from school. He has said that most do so safely.
