Beckham Jr. Would “Welcome A Return To New York” In Trade To Jets

The disappointing the Cleveland Browns was doing mercifully ended last month but, weeks later, Odell Beckham Jr. continues to—well—disappoint.

At least he is disappointing any fan who thought he is ready to put that season behind him and improve in the second season of his huge contract.

Because, despite being with the Browns for only one season, the belief is that the team would be amenable to moving him if the right offer came along—mostly because Beckham continues to hint that he would be amenable to the same thing.

Adding fuel to the trade-rumor fire is a report that Beckham would view the Jets as an ideal landing spot, should the Browns decide to trade him.

These latest rumors come amid the backdrop of a complete organizational overhaul by the Browns, with Kevin Stefanski replacing Freddie Kitchens at head coach and Andrew Berry filling the GM role available due to the departure of John Dorsey.

The Browns appear inclined to try to make things work with Beckham, as both Stefanski and Berry both expressed as much during their brief time with the organization. Having said that, it wouldn’t be surprising if both newcomers would at least be receptive to trading a player they had no role in acquiring.

Beckham is coming off a disappointing debut season with the Browns, during which he failed to match the productivity that was common during his tenure with the Giants. While some of the lackluster campaign can be attributable to a sports hernia injury that required offseason surgery, Beckham never seemed to get on the same page with Baker Mayfield.

Seems like he isn’t trying to catch up with him in the offseason as he is trying to catch on with another team.
