A new Quinnipiac University poll shows former Mayor Michael Bloomberg has risen to third place in the Democratic race for president.
He earns 15 percent of the vote, while Bernie Sanders takes over the top spot with 25 percent.Joe Biden falls to second with 17 percent.
“Is the Bloomberg camp prepping the white horse for him to ride to the rescue? Maybe not yet, but without setting foot in Iowa or New Hampshire, he is suddenly a looming shadow over the primary field," Quinnipiac University Poll Analyst Tim Malloy said.
Bloomberg also beats Trump in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup 51 to 42 percent.
