A virus that is spreading in China has not made it to New Jersey yet.
New Jersey's state Health Department is saying a person currently being treated at Hackensack University Medical Center is not infected with the coronavirus. An unidentified 25-year-old woman was brought to the hospital Thursday night and was evaluated following concerns she may have contracted the dangerous illness.
The woman has since been confirmed not to have the virus. Coronavirus can cause extreme respiratory distress, including pneumonia, and is being blamed for at least 25 deaths in China. A sickened resident of Washington state who had recently returned from China is the only confirmed case in the U.S.
