Andy Byford Resigns From the MTA

NYC Transit President Andy Byford is resigning from the MTA, two years after joining the agency.

There was reportedly a rift between him and Governor Andrew Cuomo, with Byford believing his role was being minimized. Cuomo denied any trouble between the two, saying he dealt mostly with MTA Chairman Pat Foye.

Byford is credited with helping turn around the MTA by reducing delays and improving service. It’s unclear who will replace him.
