Subways Improve On-Time Performance

On-time performance by the subway system reached its highest level since 2013.

Last year, 80 percent of trains arrived within 5 minutes of their scheduled time. That was an improvement from 67 percent the previous year.

“Thanks to the relentless hard work of our team, I’m tremendously proud to say that improvements are now the norm on the subways,” NYC Transit President Andy Byford said.

The improved performance meant that riders spent an average of 6 seconds less waiting on the platform. They were also on the train for 14 seconds less on average.
