High Rise Fire Leaves More Than a Dozen Hurt

More than a dozen people have been injured after a fire Tuesday morning at a high-rise building on the Upper East Side.

Flames erupted in the kitchen of an apartment on the 24th floor of the building on East 72nd Street. Fire officials said a door to the apartment was left open, causing the fire to spread throughout the floor.

Two of the injuries are said to be serious. Three firefighters are among the injured.
