NYPD Steps Up Security After Iran Military Leader Killed

The New York City Police Department is stepping up security around the five boroughs after a top Iranian commander was killed by a U.S. military strike.

President Trump ordered the strike that killed Qassem Soleimani and now Iran is threatening revenge.

“Have spoken with Commissioner Shea + Dep Commissioner Miller about immediate steps NYPD will take to protect key NYC locations from any attempt by Iran or its terrorist allies to retaliate against America,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Twitter.

“We will have to be vigilant against this threat for a long time to come,” he said.
